Hrant and his wife Lenna have lived in Bethesda together for over a decade, and recently celebrated eleven years of marriage. They are now the very proud parents of their first child, Ara Alexander, born August 2013.
Lenna and Hrant met while the two were advocating on human rights issues in Washington, DC. Hrant convinced Lenna to move to Maryland, and were married just a year later.
Lenna is an accomplished leader in the Pharmacy community who was inspired to work in healthcare after growing up in her father’s independent community pharmacy, and seeing first hand his dedication to his patients. After ten years of practice, Lenna is a two-time Governor Martin O’Malley apointee to the Maryland Board of Pharmacy, and recently elected by her colleagues to serve as the President of the Maryland Board of Pharmacy. A passionate Democrat, Lenna currently serves on the Board of the Women’s Democratic Club of Montgomery County, where she chairs the Legislative Committee. Lenna also serves as Vice Chair in her Precinct, 7-15, and is an active member of the MCDCC Democratic Forum.
Hrant and Lenna are the primary caregivers for Hrant’s 98 year old grandmother who lives nearby, as well as Lenna’s mother who has lived with them for much of the past decade. Seeing the shortcomings of long term care for seniors convinced Hrant that we can and must do better to provide the exemplary and affordable long term care that our families deserve.
